Indications For Use
Indications
TENS may be used to help with many types of pain including, but not limited to:
- Arthritis or other joint pain
- Back and neck pain
- Fibromyalgia
- Muscle pain
- Neuropathic pain
TENS can also be used for muscle conditioning and recovery in sports
Contraindications
The device must not be used in presence of cancerous injuries in the area to be treated. The stimulation should not be applied to infected, swollen or inflamed areas and in case of rashes (phlebitis, thrombophlebitis, etc.).
It is absolutely forbidden to use MIO-CARE if the patient suffers from severe arrythmia or has a pacemaker, suffers from epilepsy, heart-related pathologies, phlebitis in place, thrombophlebitis, in feverish state, anxiety or serious illnesses, abdominal or inguinal hernias or in case of severe injuries in the area to be treated (except in case of medical prescription).
Do not use the device if the source of the pain is unknown or not diagnosed. Use the device ONLY after having a diagnosis. In the event of injury, muscle stress or any other health problem consult your doctor before using the device and only use it under medical supervision.
Side effects
No significant side effects are known. In some cases of particularly sensitive people, skin redness occurs at the electrodes after treatment: the redness normally disappears few minutes after treatment. If the redness persists, consult a doctor.
In some rare cases evening stimulation causes some difficulties in falling asleep. In this case, suspend the treatment and consult a doctor.

Product Care
Maintenance
If used following the instructions given in this user guide, the equipment does not require any particular kind of maintenance. It is recommended that the manufacturer carries out a functional test every 24 months. The manufacturer does not consider the MIO-CARE device repairable by any personnel outside the company. Each operation of the kind perpetuated by personnel not authorized by the manufacturer will be considered as tampering the device, freeing the manufacturer from granting warranty and from any danger that the user or the operator may be exposed to.
Cleaning
Clean the device using only a dry soft cloth. Resistant strains can be removed using a sponge soaked in solution of water and alcohol, do not use detergents or other aggressive agents.
Device not subject to sterilization.
Note:
- Never use solvents for cleaning. Cleaning agents cause damage to the device.
- Attention to the need for periodic maintenance, especially:
- inspection of main body for cracks, which may allow the ingress of conductive fluid;
- inspection of the main cable and associated connectors.
Transportation & Storage
Precaution for the transportation:
There is no particular precaution to be taken during transportation of the device, since MIO-CARE is a portable device. In any case it is recommended to store MIO-CARE and its accessories in the supplied carrying bag after each treatment.
Protect the device from high temperature, direct daylight and liquids.
Precaution for the storage:
Store the device in a cool, well-ventilated place. Do not store heavy objects on the device. It is recommended to switch off MIO-CARE at the end of each treatment and to remove the cables from the connectors. MIO-CARE should be kept in the supplied carrying bag, together with the rest of the equipment supplied and carefully stored on a secure surface. The performances of the equipment are granted if it is stored according to the following conditions:

Warranty
SMART TENS is covered by a 24-month warranty starting from the date of purchase on the electronic parts. The connection cables are covered by a 6-month warranty; parts subject to wear (electrodes and batteries) are excluded from the guarantee, unless there are obvious defects in the manufacturing of the appliance and in the event of intervention on the same by personnel not authorized by the manufacturer or authorized retailer. The warranty conditions are those described in the “Warranty Regulations”. The manufacturer is obliged to trace the equipment supplied at any time in order to intervene promptly, if necessary, following manufacturing defects. We therefore ask you to: send the blue postcard and keep the green postcard. ATTENTION: in the event of failure to ship, the manufacturer declines any responsibility if corrective interventions on the equipment itself are necessary. N.B. by the buyer: it is recommended to send the appropriate blue coupon to the manufacturer to be filled in in all its parts and stamped by the retailer. In the event of subsequent warranty work, the equipment must be packaged in such a way as to avoid damage during transport and shipped to the manufacturer together with all the accessories, taking care to fill in all parts of the assistance coupon (green assistance coupon). To be entitled to warranty interventions, the buyer must send the appliance equipped with a green warranty card signed by the retailer together with the receipt or invoice proving the correct origin of the product.
Warranty rules;
1. The duration of the warranty is 24 months on electronic parts. The guarantee is provided through the point of purchase or by contacting the manufacturer directly.
2. The warranty only covers damage to the product that causes it to malfunction.
3. The warranty refers exclusively to the free repair or replacement of components recognized as defective in manufacturing or material, including labour.
4. The warranty does not apply in case of damage caused by carelessness or use not compliant with the instructions provided, damage caused by interventions by unauthorized persons, damage due to accidental causes or negligence of the purchaser, with particular reference to external parts.
5. Furthermore, the warranty does not apply to damage caused to the appliance by unforeseen power supplies (the appliance operates at 6V with 4 AAA batteries).
6. The guarantee does not include transport costs which will be borne by the buyer in relation to the methods and times of transport.
7. After 24 months the warranty expires. In this case, assistance interventions will be carried out by charging the replaced parts, labor costs and transport costs according to the rates in force.
8. For any dispute, the court of Venezia.SMART TENS has exclusive jurisdiction.
